A bit of this....

Boot Warmers

Last week I finished my first pair of boot warmers. They are so warm and cozy and great for not letting the rain and snow in your boots when walking.  I am also excited that I found this amazing new chunky yarn in acrylic. I get a lot of requests for my pieces to be knit in acrylic, but have had to order from the States up until now. Finally, Canada got some soft, chunky acrylic in amazing colours. Of course I had to buy some in a few different colours to test, right?

Knit...knit....knit....

Knit...knit...knit....I am working on two orders right now, trying to get legwarmers finished for the holiday collection (which at this rate might be turning into a New Year's collection) and still want to find time to work on my crochet blanket.  So little time and so many projects to complete!!!!!

Love It.

Hope you are having a fantastic day whatever you are doing, wherever you are doing it, and with whomever you are doing it with.

The Winnipeg Knit Wrap

This is my newest piece to my Baby, It's Cold Outside Holiday Collection. I love how this turned out. I can see me walking the dog on a cold day, keeping the chilly wind away. I tried a new honeycomb pattern and loved it. It made the piece really warm and interesting. I think I will make a smaller scarf with this pattern. Once you get the hang of it, it is super easy!

Sky Scarf

A few weeks ago my dear friend lost her mother quite suddenly. Tomorrow would have been her 68th birthday. I know how hard all the 'firsts' are going to be within the first year with her gone. I was trying to think of something to do for her, when I came across this.....

it is called a 'weather' scarf. Everyday for one year you look up at the sky and knit the colours you see. I have changed it slightly calling it a 'sky scarf.' I am going to knit two rows, one for the past and one for the future. I love the way it ties in the sky, which is comforting after losing someone you love.

Here are the colours that I bought......my favourite lady at my favourite yarn shop helped me. It was her idea to add the little fluffy ball at the end to represent clouds. I will let you know how it goes.......

Baby, It's Cold Outside

I have decided to leave the pattern writing a little, and make a holiday collection of a few items. Not sure if they will be limited additions or not. I love how this cowl turned out. I have never used Italian yarn before, and it was amazing to work with......

***My ten year old son would like you to know he takes nearly all of my pictures for Grizzlie. This is how he makes some extra money. Future as a photographer????? Maybe so......

Pattern Writing

For quite a while now I wanted to write some new patterns and put them in my shop to buy. This week I was asked by a few people and it gave me the push I needed.  So here is my first pattern for sale. It is a great little cuff bracelet that can be made quickly and doesn't take up a lot of yarn. Stocking stuffer? Quick holiday project? I can see this as a great gift for that teenager that is so hard to buy for.....
I have to say I really enjoyed writing it out and adding pictures as I went along. Now I am just thinking what my next pattern will be.......

Too cute

This is too cute for words. I can't believe someone knit this tiny hat for this little furry guy. Ok...I believe it. I could actually see me doing that IF I liked rodents, which I don't. I am a dog girl. Maybe my doggie needs a knitted cowl.....hmmmm....something to put on my Want To Knit List.  What is on your Want To Knit List?

The Chelsea

This is the newest piece in my shop. The Chelsea. It is by far the largest of the cowls and gives off some serious warmth. I love how it turned out.....
Right now I am working on some hats for the shop. Hopefully, they will be ready to photograph soon.

Happy Monday...make it a good one!

Look What I Got!!!!!

I am so excited to share with you my new purchase. Not only do I love being on Etsy but I also love buying on Etsy.  I came across the shop http://www.knitonebeadtwo.etsy.com/ and knew a huge problem may soon be solved. I contacted the lovely Molly and she came up with this beauty. A place to store ALL my needles straight and circular ones and my crochet hooks. No more looking for needles, or lost hooks. I love how it turned out. Not to mention this adorable bird and owl fabric on the outside and this sweet chocolate fabric on the inside. I am thrilled.....

Home

"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned."
                 --Maya Angelou

*My little one came home with this picture she drew at school of our home. It reminded me of how special and safe our home must feel to her. A constant in her changing life.
*I had to add a picture of my knit house. Nothing more comforting then knitting at home.
