The Process
This is an order that I am preparing to go out. It looks a bit grey but is actually a beautiful oatmeal colour. This is The Simcoe Cozy that can be seen in my shop. It is so warm and comforting to knit.
Those cute business cards are from http://www.moo.com/ They are so adorable and you get a bunch of different patterns with each order which is nice.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for Halloween and all the craziness that it brings!

A Quick Little Project
Holy Pink Batman....pink seems to be this month's theme!!!! I had some leftover pink cotton and some fuzzy pink and silver fun fur yarn....so I created these little fingerless gloves for my gal. They are perfect for cool, fall days when you need your fingers for picking up leaves and acorns. No more pink this month.....I promise.
***If any of my dear fellow knitters would like the pattern for these cute hand warmers. Just e-mail me. They are dead easy and knit up in a couple of hours. And no...you don't have to do them in pink!

Meet Piggie Piglet
What does a knitter momma do for two days while one of her piglets is in bed with the flu? Inbetween getting medicine, freezies, and putting on movies she makes a knitted pig of course!

The Beginning
I love the beginning....the look of the button. The yarn to be its partner. The flooding of ideas. A scarf? A shawl? A market bag? Sometimes I don't know until I make that first stitch. And then the creation takes place.

A Party Fit For A Princess....
This weekend was busy with a party for my little princess's birthday. I had so much fun with the food, activities and decorations. They made their own crowns, got their nails painted and beaded bracelets.....everything a little princess could want.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and did something...even if it was only one thing...that you truly loved.
Tonight I can't wait to finish off a knitting project that is almost done....I will post it later this week. Think little girl hands!

My Fake Ballerina
I have finally finished my little one's leg warmers. She couldn't wait to dress up in her ballerina outfit and flip around the house. I say flip because my girl does not dance but rather tumbles and flips to music. I have a fake ballerina. On the outside she looks all dainty and pretty but on the inside she is all warrior. We put her in one ballet class and it was far too slow for my speed demon. While the other girls softly fluttered their routine my girl looked like she was on an episode of The Amazing Race. Oh well....we all can't be ballerinas. Some of us have to be warriors.
***It is not to late to enter my giveaway for a Knit Bracelet. The winner will be announced tomorrow! Just leave a comment and become a follower.....

What I am up to.....
1.Ok. I know I am far too old to be reading the Twilight series. I am old enough to be their mother! I should be reading useful things like "How to Make My Children Behave." Yet I am reading the last one Breaking Dawn. And soooo enjoying it. (At least Jacob is legal now ;)
There is something so smooth about her writing and Bella is such a likeable character. I can't wait to get to the end....
2.I am working on a pair of leg warmers for my little girl. They are turning out adorable and should be finished this week. Do I dare make a chunky pair for grown-ups and put them in my shop?? I am thinking about this...but what colour?

Lacey Scarf
This is my first scarf since I learned to crochet. I love the big, lacey feel to it. I can see it with some hip boots and jeans giving an outfit a funky look. It has no wool in it for the sensitive kind of folks. Can't wait to make more in some other colours.....
Hope your weekend was great and you stayed warm......

2011 Goals.....
Lately I have been in a "do it" mood. Enough with writing my to do lists. Sometimes it seems that is all I do. I promised myself this fall was going to be different. So I......
1. Made a chalkboard in my kitchen. Or as the experts say a "communication" centre. (That right now I am not allowing the kids to touch, as it is so pretty)
2.Finally painted my fireplace white. I have wanted to do this the day we moved in eight years ago!!!!
3.Learn to crochet. Something I have wanted to learn for years. I am head over heels in love with it almost as much as knitting.
I must mention my hubby helped with the chalkboard, my boys helped with the fireplace, and countless You-Tube videos helped to teach me to crochet. Help to get a job done is a good thing!
What did you want to accomplish this year? You still have time!!!

Welcome....
Welcome to the very first post of my very first blog. Follow my journey into my knitting madness and all the projects, amazing yarns and finished and (unfinished) items that I hope to show.
Last December I opened up my own knitting shop on Etsy called Grizzlie. It has a Canadian spin as we need to keep warm for too many months of the year. I have loved knitting for Grizzlie and all my customers. It is wonderful to think something I made is keeping someone warm. I have also loved knitting the little wedding pillows, knowing that they were part of someone's big day. Knitting has brought so much joy to my life....I am very grateful that it is part of it. I hope this blog communicates that.
Recently I learned to crochet which has also been a goal of mine. Oh no....another addiction. Today I posted my first crocheted piece on Grizzlie. I like the colour and how it turned out.
