Organizing my little one's work space

Besides knitting.....I love to organize! Before children I was the type of gal who labeled my label maker. But three kids later...I had to let go. (Just a tad). Recently I reorganized a lot of my house and boy is it working! I thought I would share with my lovely readers.

Here is my little girl's work space:

This is tucked neatly in the corner of the kitchen. I purchased the table from Homesense a few years ago, along with the white, framed cork board. Now she can pin things that are important to her.

This bin is from Michaels. I labeled it homework caddy and it can be on the big table while the kids are doing work. It holds things like a calculator, scissors, pencils....

Here she is 'encouraged' to file her belongings in the slots. It is keeping her from 'piling' stuff on her table and having  trouble when she can't find something. She is an art and crafts mad woman, and this table looks like a hurricane past over it every night BUT it only takes us a few minutes to get everything back since everything has a home. Everything else should be in the garbage.  I house her arts and crafts supplies in a low down cupboard so she can get everything herself.

Thanks for looking!

Fall is coming......

I listed a few new pieces in my shop over the past few months. Today I spent a lot of time redoing my pictures.

I love nature as a back drop. Especially, since Grizzlie is so rustic.

On tomorrow's to-list....Grizzlie tags. I have my stamps, tags and string all ready:)

Good-Bye Summer

As summer comes to an end we wonder where it went. Ours started rather late this year and we had quite a few chilly days mixed in with the sun. And boy did we have rain. I love the change of seasons. Next up fall. My favourite. A feast for the senses......

Grizzlie will be going through some changes also. I am going back to my original look. Woman's clothes and accessories. I am taking off my baby things for the time being. Taking my love of design to the next level. Not sure what I will do about my patterns....we will see.

This is a new piece I knit out of a lovely recycled cotton in a sandy beige. I am thrilled how it turned out as it is my first piece like this....

I am trying to add more colour to my natural shop. I think this is my new fav.

A Knitted Garland

I have always wanted to knit a Garland or Bunting of some kind. I fished out my cotton and knit one for over the fire place. The knitted squares are actually a pattern. I adapted it from one of my favourite baby blanket patterns I got a long time ago. The cord is just two rows of crochet. I love how it looks over the fire place, but I think it may look too wintery for this time of year.

If you would like the pattern, just let me know and I will do a post for you.

New Snowflake Cowl

I am busy working on new pieces for fall and winter!  Which is crazy as our summer just began last week. We have a very short season here (you wouldn't know that by how many tank-tops I own) but we will begin to get cool again mid September. Even now I was outside and needed a little sweater! My newest piece is called snowflake and the pictures don't do it justice. It has tiny sparkles sewn into the yarn....reminds me of fresh, fallen snow. So pretty....

I only have enough of this special yarn to make three of these......www.grizzlie.etsy.com

So sweet

I just love those lips. She is in such a peaceful sleep....I wonder what she is dreaming about....

Here Comes The Bride....

One of my favourite things to knit is a ring-bearer pillow.....the thought of something I created is going to be part of one of the most important, special days in a couple's life is overwhelming. I LOVE working with brides to match their colours and add special details......A wedding is the beginning of a family.
